Too Soon to be June – Jun. 2020

Monday 1st June 2020

Hi Everyone,

Is it just me, or have the last couple of months gone by really quickly? I don’t know why (although I think I do) but it just feels like it has, I mean we’re already halfway through the year! Maybe it’s true what my Dad says, the years do seem to go by quicker after you turn 21. Anyway, I hope you’re all keeping well. I’ve been keeping myself busy with a couple of my own projects last month.

Back in May’s Blog I mentioned that I would be making something using the Lewis & Irene ‘Thalassophile’ Fabrics – I had to wait a couple of weeks for my sewing supplies to arrive, but thankfully I managed to get it finished before the end of May 2020. Using a bag pattern from one of my favourite Debbie Shore books, I created this nautical-themed bag.

Also, in last month’s blog I briefly mentioned that I would be working on something for World Otter Day (Wednesday 27th May 2020) – you may have seen this little chap (on the right) popping up here and there on our website holding his little snowdrop in his paws, and you may have been thinking “what is an otter doing on a sewing website?”. Well, he is the mascot for Sew-Drops! And now, based on my own original illustration and designs (not to mention some bits of fabric and felt), I have brought him to life. I am so proud with how he’s turned out, plus I think he’s just so cute ? Oh, and I’ve just remembered, now that my otter has been created, that means that I’ve completed another one of my New Year’s Resolutions from my January 2020 Blog. Whoo Hoo!

At the end of May, an article that I wrote for Craft Focus Magazine about Sew-Drops was published on their website – you can read the full article here.

So, what’s happening at Sew-Drops in June 2020 you may be wondering? Well, starting today we are offering 20% Off All our Liberty Fabric Collections for the whole of June 2020! Use code ‘LIBERTY20’ at the checkout – Offer Ends 31st June 2020. We originally did this offer back in March 2020 and found it to be quite popular with our customers, so we’ve decided to bring it back. Plus, we’d like to start making room for all the lovely new fabric collections we’ll be getting in throughout the rest of the year.

Also, the NEW Summer E-Newsletter has been sent to all subscribers TODAY cataloguing some of the nice things that’ll be happening at Sew-Drops between June, July & August 2020 – if you’d like to sign up to our newsletters then you can. Simply go to our Homepage and scroll down to the bottom of the page and you’ll find it.

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been trialling/testing SEAMS Beauty Hand Cream. Made in Britain, and great to use when you’re sewing (or not – you don’t have to sew to enjoy this hand cream). It helps to keep your hands super soft; the cream itself smells really nice and relaxing – and a big plus, it’s 100% cruelty free ? We’re also looking into stocking books and potentially some ceramic buttons so keep an eye out on our website and our social media pages for updates on those and any other NEW additions.

Finally, at the end of this month we’ll be welcoming our next fabric collection, Lewis & Irene’s ‘Tomten’s Christmas’. The brand’s FIRST EVER collaboration collection with talented illustrator Eva Melhuish. We’ll be getting the whole collection in stock (excluding the giant stocking panel and the double-edge border print) as well as some NEW bumbleberries fabrics – you can view the collection in our COMING SOON section now.

Well that’s all for June’s blog, thank you all so much for reading – we’ve got lots more to look forward to in July’s Blog as we’ll be talking more about Christmas as we take part in our very first ‘Christmas in July’ event, and we’ll be getting ready to celebrate our 1st birthday! 🙂

Thanks for all your support and please keep safe and well xx

Best Wishes,
Rebecca x
