Sunday 24th November 2024
Hello everyone,
We’re almost at the end of another year – how the time has flown – but I thought it’d be nice to end 2024 with one more blog. So, what’s been happening at Sew-Drops these last few months? Well…
We’ve had not one, but two new fabric collections arrive at Sew-Drops. First, we have the breathtaking ‘Postcard from the Highlands’ collection by Liberty Fabrics; inspired by the stunning Scottish Highlands, these fabrics pay homage to the beautiful flora and fauna found in this part of the UK.
The second fabric collection is the wintery ‘Down Tinsel Lane’, designed by Anni Downs. Full of whimsical charm, these fabrics have been a popular choice for crafters – especially when it comes to making things for Christmas. I recently made a quilted stocking with a couple of the fabrics, but here’s a few more project ideas:-
A tree skirt to add an extra bit of charm to your Christmas tree, gift bags or a Santa sack for storing presents, trinket boxes to keep your favourite sweet treats, or maybe a beautiful patchwork quilt and quilted cushions to snuggle up with on the settee.
Speaking of which, if you’re looking for some cute and cozy looking cushions to snuggle up with this winter, then I might be able to help. We’ve a very limited supply of Debbie Shore’s ‘Wrapped Up’ cushion panels / kits available on our website. All the kits come with either the ‘Owl’ or ‘Fox’ panel (whichever you choose to purchase), co-ordinating red check backing fabric, and easy-to-follow paper instructions written by Debbie herself. I’ve attempted both of these cushion projects and both have been very satisfying.
We have lots of other Christmas fabrics and products available, be sure to browse our ‘Christmas’ section for those.
As Christmas draws near, you’ll want to make sure that you get all your cards and gifts sent out early so that they have plenty of time to reach loved ones before the big day. For all our parcels and packages, we use our local Royal Mail Post Office.
The final date for all 1st Class / Signed For post before Christmas will be Thursday 19th December 2024.
Any orders placed after this date will be dispatched after Christmas (Friday 27th December 2024)
Lastly, I’d like to end this blog with a short message from me. This year has been a mixed bag of both highs and lows; from a business POV and in my personal life. However, one of my favourite moments of 2024 was getting to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Sew-Drops. Not only was this a small (yet massive) milestone for us, but I even managed to face one my biggest fears…sharing a photo of myself on social media. On the 15th of July, I did a special anniversary post on my Facebook / Instagram pages introducing myself to all my followers. Granted, I was nervous about doing it, but all the lovely comments and well wishes I received made it worth it in the end.
I cannot thank every one of you enough for all the support you have given, and continue to give to our small little business. Let’s hope we’ll be celebrating our 10th anniversary in July 2029.
I hope you’ve all enjoyed reading my final blog of the year! We’re currently preparing for all new product arrivals for 2025 (more on those in my next blog). Until then, have a very Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year! 🙂
Best wishes,
Rebecca x
