There’s No Fabric Like Hometown – Oct. 2022

Hello everyone,

Well I think it’s safe to say that autumn is well and truly here now. With the days getting shorter (light-wise), the leaves falling from the trees, and a chill in the air, now is the perfect time to be indoors, hopefully keeping warm as best as you can and passing the time with a cup of tea, biscuits, and a sewing project on your lap.

Whilst I’m on the subject of all things ‘HOME’, I think now would be a good time to tell you about the latest fabric collection that has just arrived at Sew-Drops!

They say that home is where the heart is, and as Dorothy once said, there’s no place quite like it. This is what inspired Tone Finnanger of Tilda Fabrics’ to create her newest collection, Hometown. Being a city girl, Tone decided to take the leap and move to a small community town in the country. Based on the beautiful description she wrote, it sounds just like something from ‘Anne of Green Gables’; picket fences, apple gardens, and friendly gatherings, etc. – What’s not to love?

Featuring lovely drawings of neighbourhoods, houses, gardens, and gathering, and with 4 x colourways to choose from (ranging from autumnal reds/purples to wintry blues/greens), this cosy collection of fabrics will be perfect for your homey quilts and projects. And if you need any more inspiration for sewing projects, Tilda have recently added some new (and free) downloadable patterns on their website for this collection.

From this range, we have a selection of the mini FQ bundles (including the ‘My Neighbourhood’ blenders), plus 5” square charm packs and 2 x sizes of fabric buttons, either 16mm or 18mm. You can find them all here on our website.

If you’re currently searching for sewing / crafting presents for Christmas, whether it be for a friend, family member, or even a treat for yourself, then I really think that these would be a good choice.
