Springtime Sewing! – Mar. 2024

Hello everyone,
It’s been a while since I last posted a new blog, so I’ll start by getting you up to speed with all the new and amazing products that have arrived at Sew-Drops over the last few weeks: –
Needle Felting Kits by The Crafty Kit Company –
So last year, whilst doing some pop-up events, I asked customers to fill in a mini questionnaire to help give me some ideas for future products. Everyone I asked ticked the ‘needle felting’ box. After reading through all the feedback, I started looking for needle felting companies in the UK and came across The Crafty Kit Company. Based in beautiful Scotland, their kits are suitable for both beginners and experienced crafters and with a variety of adorable kits to choose from, they are guaranteed to put a smile on your face.
Before we started stocking their kits, I decided to try one out for myself. I chose to make the ‘Felt Snowman’ kit at Easter – a strange kit to choose for spring I know, but it never hurts to start making things for Christmas, even if it is 8 months away. Besides, he wasn’t going to melt because he’s made of wool. After I made him, I had a go at making a ‘Bertie Bunny’, the ‘Gingerbread Kids Bunting’ with my Mum, and I recently just finished making a ‘Baby Hedgehog’. It’s pretty safe to say that I’m officially hooked on this.

Daisy Lane Sewing Co. Panels by Debbie Shore –
We’ve got the Wrapped Up Warm ‘Fox’ & ‘Owl’ panels to make your own quilted cushions and tote bags, and also the Birds & Bobbins Sewing Project kits where you can make up to 7 x sewing-themed projects – all panels come with easy-to-follow instructions.
But that’s not all…this month, we’ll be getting some of the “bee-utiful” bee cushion cover panels that Debbie Shore recently showcased on Create & Craft. I can’t wait for these to arrive!
Corinne Lapierre Kits (Re-Stocked) –
We’ve got new kits by Corinne Lapierre; including beautiful folk embroidered animal mini kits, lavender houses, heart decorations, and hoop kits too!
New Fabric for Summer 2024: ‘Sandy Toes’ by Clothworks –
Our very first fabric collection of the year will be the ‘Sandy Toes’ collection. Produced by Clothworks, this coastal range features designs by Anita Jeram, who you may know for her illustrations for the iconic children’s book, “Guess How Much I Love You”. This collection will be with us by the end of March / early April 2024.
We also have 2 more fabric collections that will be arriving later in the year. One of them is called ‘Down Tinsel Lane’ by Henry Glass Fabrics (this will be a Christmas collection – this one is up on our ‘Coming Soon’ page), and the other will be a brand new range by Liberty, which will arrive at the end of August / early September.
New Items added to our ‘Special Offers’ page –
To make room for all the new products and fabric ranges that’ll be arriving at Sew-Drops throughout 2024, we’ve reduced and added a selection of items to our ‘Special Offers’ page. This includes fabrics by Liberty and Lewis & Irene, as well as embroidery kits by Hawthorn Handmade and Oh Sew Bootiful hoop kits – I recommend getting those while stocks last. Be sure to keep checking our website throughout the year to see what we have on special offer.
We’ve stocked a variety of great brands and products on our website, and over time we like to make changes here and there. However, we’ve noticed that some categories are starting to lack products, in particular the ‘Books & Patterns’ and ‘Sewing Accessories’ sections…so we’re going to fix that.
We’re already looking into getting some more books, as well as some more Mettler threads – maybe even some new colours – but if any of you have any product ideas that we may not have thought of, then please get in touch. We’d love to hear your thoughts.
