Wednesday 1st March 2023
Hello everyone,
The start of spring always helps to brighten my mood. Don’t get me wrong, I love winter, but I think we’re all ready for a change now – hopefully it will start to get a little brighter, a bit warmer, and a lot more colourful as the snowdrops, daffodils, and cherry blossoms start to bloom outside.
In this month’s blog, I’ll be telling you about some brand new fabrics that have arrived (or will be arriving) at Sew-Drops, as well as sharing my top picks for Mother’s Day and Easter gifts.
It may seem like a long way away, but on the 6th of May 2023 the UK will be celebrating the coronation of King Charles III. There will be street parties, a bank holiday weekend, and all sorts of lovely events happening here in Britain and around the world. In honour of this very special occasion, Lewis & Irene have just released an exclusive collection called ‘Coronation Day’, and we are stocking the beautiful bunting panel!
This panel also features gold metallic elements on the big / little crowns, as well as on the carriage wheels that’s fit for royalty. The bunting panel is now available on our website, however we only have a limited number in stock, so if you’d like to make your own patriotic bunting for the big day, be sure to get yours today because I have a feeling that these will be a very popular choice.
With Mother’s Day (19th March) and Easter Sunday (9th April) coming up soon, now is definitely a good time to start looking for gifts (if you haven’t already). If you’re in need of some half term projects to do with the kids over the Easter holidays, or a kit to make a lovely handmade treasure for a very special Mum, here are some of my sewing / crafting gift ideas –
The Spring 2023 newsletter has now been emailed out to all newsletter subscribers, so be sure to check your inboxes – I’ve also been working on some small changes to the design and layout, so I hope you like them. If you would like to sign up to our seasonal newsletter, please go to our ‘Homepage’ and scroll down until you see the ‘Newsletter’ section.
Now this is definitely a “sewing and crafting” themed collection you’ll want to keep an eye on. Produced by Lewis & Irene, it takes inspiration from Cassandra Connolly’s grandmother and the many accessories found in her sewing box; from buttons and ribbons to trimmings and threads. These fabrics are sure to bring back fond memories of your own sewing and crafting days, past and present.
We’ll be stocking 1 of 3 colourways (see below), which may seem small, but it can be beautifully combined with the ‘Meadowside’ fabrics (also by Cassandra Connolly), that are currently available on our website.
Well that’s all for this month’s blog, thank you all so much for reading. I will be back in April, hopefully with those gorgeous sewing-themed fabrics that I’ve just been telling you about, and lots more. 🙂
Best wishes,
Rebecca x
