Monday 1st March 2021
Hello Everyone,
We’re now moving into the Spring season; where the flowers start to bloom, we say goodbye to the gloom, and the days will hopefully start to get lighter and brighter. For many households, now is the time to begin your Spring cleaning, but at Sew-Drops, this March is all about SPRING SEWING!
I’ve got so many exciting things to share with you all in this month’s blog, so let’s get started.
So what’s new at Sew-Drops? Well, some of our most recent FABRIC arrivals are Liberty Fabrics ‘Deco Dance’ Collection and the Alice in Wonderland Collection which is inspired by the V&A Museum and produced by one of our NEW brands, the Craft Cotton Company. Both these ranges are absolutely perfect for this time of year with their bright and bold designs and floral motifs, plus the Alice in Wonderland range is a real treat for fans of Lewis Carroll’s iconic novel – by the way, this coming Thursday (4th March) it’s World Book Day, so be sure to check out our social media pages as Sew-Drops will be posting up our own tribute to this particular collection of fabrics!
This month we are introducing more felt and embroidery products to our website, one of which is the beautiful cross stitch kits from Wrendale Designs by Hannah Dale (produced by Bothy Threads). Now you can recreate some of your favourite pieces of Wrendale artwork, including ‘Ducks and Daffs’, ‘Poppy Field’, ‘Bluebell Wood’ and many more.
We have also released a NEW range of Corinne Lapierre felt kits today, plus, some familiar faces have returned as well. Made in Britain, these kits are great gift ideas for friends and family, and they are suitable for crafters of all levels. I recently had a go at making one of the new kits, the Hummingbird Embroidery Hoop. Now, this was my first time doing an embroidery hoop project, but I’m really glad I chose to do it. The instructions in the kit were so clear and easy to follow and they really helped me to create something which I’m very, very proud of. If you’d like to see more embroidery hoop kits on our website in the future, then please get in touch and let me know what you think.
All the Wrendale Designs by Hannah Dale Cross Stitch Kits and the Corinne Lapierre felt kits can now be found in our ‘Felt & Embroidery’ section on our homepage.
Earlier today I also emailed the NEW Sew-Drops E-Newsletter for Spring 2021 to all newsletter subscribers. If you are interested in signing up to our newsletter, then you can by simply going to our Homepage and scrolling down to the bottom where it says ‘NEWSLETTER’ in big capital letters – all the details on how to subscribe can be found there.
On Sunday 14th March 2021 we will be celebrating Mother’s Day. If your Mum is a big arts and crafts fanatic and you’re still looking for the perfect gift to give to her, then I would definitely recommend any of the products on our website, especially the SEAMS Beauty Courtiers Hand Cream, the Art to Heart Quilting Books (for all year-round projects), and our range of Handmade Gifts – in particular, the cosmetic bags and hanging hearts.
I’ll finish this blog off by giving you all a quick update on Lewis & Irene’s ‘Queen Bee’ Collection, which is due to arrive at the end of this month. According to the brand, they are currently experiencing shipping delays of up to 4-6 weeks. This means that the collection will arrive sometime between the end of March and early May 2021, but I’ll keep you all posted on that and let you know of any changes.
So, that’s it for our March 2021 blog, thank you all so much for reading. I’m really looking forward to our April 2021 Blog, featuring more updates on the latest news and products that’ll be arriving at Sew-Drops in the months to come! 🙂
Best Wishes,
Rebecca x
