Hobbies, Gifts, and More! – May. 2023

Monday 1st May 2023

Hello everyone,

I hope you’ve all been keeping busy these last few weeks. I sure have. In fact, there’s been plenty of things happening at Sew-Drops recently, so let’s see what’s been going on: –

NEW IN: Hobby Gift Sewing Boxes and Pincushions –

So we’re now stocking a selection of handmade gifts by Hobby Gift. We have the fabric-covered storage boxes, which would make great gifts for sewing and craft fanatics looking to keep their tools and accessories stored in a beautifully decorated box; meanwhile the pincushions come in a variety of shapes and sizes, and would look great in your craft room.

They also make fine decorations for your home (should you decide not to stick pins in them) – I have one of my own, a small cactus, which I have on a shelf somewhere.

Fat Quarter Bundles & Fabric Panels –

I’ve been busy creating some new fat quarter bundles from some of the fabric ranges available on our website; including Liberty, Lewis & Irene, Craft Cotton Co, Moda, Henry Glass, and Susybee Fabrics.

We’re also going to be stocking some beautiful panels in the next few days from a very well-known designer (that’s all I’m saying for now – I want it to be a surprise. Shhh.)

Bents Pop Up Photo April 2023

Last month, I also took part in my very first pop-up event at Bents Garden and Home Centre. I was a little nervous on the day, but overall I really enjoyed the experience of getting to meet people who loved to sew and craft as much as I do. I’m hoping to be able to do more pop-ups there going forward, so if you’re local to Bents and would be interested in coming along to one of my pop-up events, then be sure to like or follow my social media pages because I will be posting any updates on there.

COMING SOON: Kimberley Hind’s ‘Strawberry Picking’ FQ bundles –

Designed by Kimberley Hind (daughter of Debbie Shore) and produced by Craft Cotton Company, this range will focus on one of our favourite summer fruits…the strawberry. Bright, colourful, and fresh, these fabrics will be great for a number of mini projects e.g. summer dresses, basket liners for picnics (or for picking strawberries), lunch boxes, shopping bags and more.

‘Strawberry Picking’ FQ bundles are due to arrive at Sew-Drops in early June 2023.

Well that’s all for this month’s blog, thank you so much for reading. I will be back in June to celebrate the arrival of the new Strawberry Picking fat quarter bundles, and hopefully have more product news to share! 🙂

Best wishes,
Rebecca x
