Four Years of Sewing & Crafting! – Jul. 2023

Hello everyone,

Today I’m celebrating something very special, because four years ago (today), I launched Sew-Drops. Where has the time gone? Four years old…and just think, next year (touch wood) it’ll be five years, half a decade!

I’ll be honest, when I first started this business, and with everything that happened during those first couple of years (you all know what I’m talking about), I never thought I’d be writing this blog four years later.

I remember writing my very first blog all those years ago, my “sewing origin” story if you will, and how sewing and crafting helped me during a difficult time in my life. Since then I have learnt about other types of arts and crafts (e.g. this business introduced me to hand embroidery, and more recently needle felting), but more importantly, it’s allowed me to let my own creativity flourish and find out what I can do.

So I’d like to say a massive thank you to everyone who continues to support my small business. Your loyalty and kindness means so much.

Now before I finish this blog, I do have some good news to share, and even more good news for those of you who love fabrics…

So I thought it would be a nice idea to bring an old ‘fabric friend’ back to Sew-Drops, a brand that we really liked and stocked almost 3 years ago. Ladies and gentlemen (drum roll please) we are once again official stockists of…Art Gallery Fabrics!

Originally, we stocked the ‘Colour Master Designer’s Palette FQ Box Bundles’, however we learnt that they weren’t going to be doing any new bundles for this range going forward (which was a shame because they were lovely). Anyway, we recently heard that they’d started to offer pre-cut FQ bundles for their up and coming fabric ranges, and we just couldn’t resist bringing them back. And the great thing is, Art Gallery Fabrics releases several collections each year, so there will be lots of ‘Fabric Wonder’ bundles for us to choose from.

Currently we have 4 x different bundles available including ‘Flower Bloom’, ‘Haven’, ‘Lullabee’, and ‘Mindscape’ – but we will be adding some autumn, Halloween and Christmas-themed FQ bundles in the next few days, so keep your eyes peeled.

For those of you patiently waiting for the ‘Strawberry Picking’ FQ bundles, we are hoping that they’ll be arriving very soon, along with the Christmas fabrics and panels from Victoria Louise’s ‘Welcome Home’ collection which are due to arrive at the end of the month.

(UPDATE 17/07/2023: Due to ongoing shipping delays, we have made the tough decision to cancel the ‘Strawberry Picking’ FQ bundles, which were originally due to arrive at Sew-Drops in May 2023 for the summer months. To everyone who has been waiting for these bundles to arrive on our website, I am very sorry – we were just as excited to be stocking this range and were really looking forward to seeing these fabrics with our own eyes.)
