Fabric, Fabric, Fabric! – Feb. 2021

Monday 1st February 2021

Hello Everyone,

As the title of this month’s blog suggests, NEW fabric(s) are coming!

We were hoping that the Liberty Deco Dance Collection was going to be with us by the end of January, but due to a slight delay with delivery/shipping, it’s looking like the fabrics will be delivered to us some time during the first week of February instead. Once they’ve arrived, we’ll get it on our website as soon as possible.

I’m really looking forward to these fabrics arriving, mainly because I’ve been lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the collection. Back in mid-December, we were given a mini fat quarter bundle of Deco Dance by Liberty Fabrics (thank you Santa) and they are amazing. The colours are just so fresh and bright, and you can really see the Art Deco inspiration throughout the designs, plus one of the fabrics has small sections of silver metallic too, but I won’t tell you which one, you’ll have to find out yourselves.

UPDATE (05/02/2021): The Deco Dance Collection has arrived and is now available on our website.

If you remember in last month’s blog, I mentioned that we would be launching a NEW fabric brand in early February. Don’t worry, that’s still happening, but I’ve got another major plot twist to share with you all…this February, we will be launching not 1 but 2 NEW product brands! I really want to keep them as a surprise, but I thought I’d give you a couple of clues and put your ‘product’ knowledge to the test.

The first is a FABRIC brand which are based in the UK and has been making top quality cotton fabrics for over 70 years. And the second is an award-winning ARTS & CRAFTS brand which first launched in the UK back in 2012, plus they don’t just do one type of product. Now if you can figure out these brands from my cryptic clues, I’ll be very impressed, but if you’re still a bit puzzled then don’t worry, because you haven’t got much longer to wait for them to arrive.

Now, Valentine’s Day is going to look a bit different this year, but I’ve decided to play the part of Cupid and help you to find your next crafting love with my magical bow and arrow.

Corinne Lapierre kits are a fan favourite, and I can definitely see why, they’re just so much fun to make and do (and are a great gift idea for friends and family). I’m currently in the middle of making the lovely Hummingbird Embroidery Hoop kit. Now, we’ve only got a selected range of kits left in stock, but we will be bringing back some old favourites, plus some new kits too, in the next few weeks (possibly early March).

We’ve also got the lovely Liberty dressmaking patterns which would be great for those who are preparing to make dresses for the Spring/Summer months – you can even mix and match the patterns with our range of cotton fabrics.

However, I know that not everyone is a massive lover of Valentine’s Day (you see what I did there?) so consider this to be another fun crafting month! For general crafting and sewing projects, then I recommend our range of bag patterns from Sewing Patterns by Mrs. H, and for all year round projects try the Art to Heart Quilting Books. Along with the variety of patterns, you could use some of the silk-finish cotton threads by Mettler; they’re great to use for general sewing, quilting, embroidery and overlocking projects.

Finally, I just wanted to give you a quick update on a couple of our Spring fabric collections. Early last month, Lewis and Irene informed all stockists that there may be some delays with the delivery dates for the Spring/Summer Collections. The delays could be up to 4-6 weeks and this may affect the 2 x collections which we’ll be stocking in March and April 2021 (‘Queen Bee’ & ‘Reflections’). The dates of arrival for these collections may be changed, but for now they will remain as they are until we know more.

In the meantime, we will always be looking for other new products to stock on our website. If you have any suggestions for future products and brands, then please get in touch via email.

Well, that’s it for our February 2021 blog, thank you all so much for reading. I’m really looking forward to our March 2021 Blog, which will featuring more updates on the latest news and products that’ll be arriving at Sew-Drops in the months to come! 🙂

Best Wishes,
Rebecca x
