Christmas Has Come Early! – Jul. 2022

Friday 1st July 2022

Hello everyone,

Happy holidays…the summer holidays that is! 😊

Now it’s probably a bit too early (not to mention too hot) to be even thinking about Christmas, but that doesn’t mean we can’t start planning. After all it is Christmas in July, and we’ve got some brand NEW festive fabrics in stock (more on that in a minute).

Gingerbread Season Collection Fat Quarter Bundle

So, the summer holidays will be kicking off in a few weeks’ time, and like many of you, I am hoping to get out and try new things. One of the things on my summer bucket list will be learning how to play golf. I’ve always liked golf, especially the ‘crazy’ kind, plus my Mum and Dad played golf in the 90s, so hopefully I won’t do too badly. Besides, as long as I can have fun and make some new friends, I’ll consider that a win.

I’ll let you all know how I get on with golf in the next blog, but right now, let’s see what’s new for July 2022!

Lewis & Irene’s ‘Gingerbread Season’ collection has arrived at Sew-Drops. Full of festive fun and a variety of cute gingerbread-styled designs, this range of fabrics is sure to warm your hearts (and quite possibly your stomachs). I can already think of some great project ideas for these fabrics; Christmas stockings, kitchen aprons for both children and the children at heart, gift bags, table runners, beautiful dresses, etc.

However, if you’re not a fan of gingerbread, we do have other Christmas fabric ranges in stock:-

Craft Cotton Co. and Debbie Shore’s ‘Christmas Critters’, Lewis & Irene and Eva Melhuish’s ‘Keep Believing’, and Liberty Fabrics ‘Seasons Greetings’ collection.

(UPDATE 25/07/2022: To celebrate ‘Christmas in July’ we have added some brand NEW Corinne Lapierre kits to our website, including 4 x embroidery hoop kits; ‘Wild Hare’, ‘Hummingbird’, ‘Toadstools’, and ‘Christmas with the Mouse Family’, and the complete 12 Days of Christmas kit. We’ve also got some of the mini kits back in stock too!)

Later on this month, we will be celebrating three years since we officially launched Sew-Drops. I say this every year, but I honestly can’t believe how quickly the time is passing by. Like many other small businesses over the last couple of years, we have had our fair share of good and bad days, but I would just like to take this moment to say a huge thank you to everyone who continues to support us.

Hopefully now, we will be able to start moving forward…which brings me on nicely to my next bit of news. Recently, I have mentioned about starting to offer local 1:1 sewing lessons. We’ll I am happy to announce that we will be able to begin offering these sessions later this month! More details coming soon.

(UPDATE 20/07/2022: Due to an unforeseen health issue with my Mum, I have decided to put the 1:1 sewing classes on hold. I hope to have better news later on this year)

Finally, I have recently added one of two autumn fabric collections to our ‘Coming Soon’ page – Cassandra Connolly’s ‘Meadowside’ collection, which is due to arrive at the end of October 2022. I will be announcing the second autumn fabric collection in next month’s blog!

Any guesses as to what it could be?

Thank you all so much for reading this month’s blog. I will be back in August with a more ‘laid back’ blog to celebrate the Summer holidays, plus I’ll let you know how I got on with learning to play golf!

Best wishes,
Rebecca x
