Hello everyone, and Happy New Year!
Whether you celebrated Christmas or not, I hope you’ve had a nice, relaxing break – I never like saying goodbye to Christmas, it’s such a magical time of the year; the tree, the lights, the carols, the snow…(sigh)…I really don’t want to get the January blues, so I think it’s time to change topic.
So, what’s happening at Sew-Drops for January 2023?

So we usually offer 3 x cutting options for fabrics which are delivered to us on bolts; Fat Quarter, Half Metre, and Metre. However, I have decided to change this. As of now, I will be cutting fabrics from bolts by the half metre. If you’d like to order more than 1 x half metre of a specific fabric, it will be cut as one continuous piece.
E.g. 1 x Half Metre = 0.5 metres, 2 x Half Metres = 1 metre, 3 x Half Metres = 1.5 metres, and so on.
However, for those of you who prefer fat quarters, don’t worry, because I will still be offering the option of FQ bundles for new and selected collections (subject to fabric availability), as well as individual fat quarters from discontinued ranges.

Some of you may remember last summer that I was hoping to start offering local 1:1 sewing sessions, however, due to an unexpected health issue with my Mum, I decided to put it all on hold until the new year. Anyway, I have good news, because later on this month, I will be giving you all an update about these. I definitely recommend keeping an eye on our social media pages, however, if you don’t do social media, I will be updating this blog too.
I have recently updated our website’s Coming Soon page to reveal two new fabric collections for 2023. We will be stocking fabrics from Lewis & Irene’s ‘Coronation Day’ collection (due to arrive at the end of February) and Cassandra Connolly’s ‘Memory Made’ collection (due at the end of March 2023).
My final piece of news is that I’m going to be trying something different this year. Call it my new year’s resolution if you will, but I’ve decided that I’m going to add another string to my bow and learn a new skill…How to Design. I’ve always loved art and design. It was one of my GCSE and A-Level subjects, and one of the reasons why I got into sewing in the first place, so I’m really looking forward to delving back into it. What will I actually be designing? I’m not sure yet, although I have been juggling a few ideas in my head.
It’s all still a work in progress, but I should hopefully have more to share later on in the year.
