A New Season of Sewing Begins – Sept. 2020

Hello Everyone,

Summer has come and gone for another year, which means that Autumn has arrived! Now, Autumn is my favourite time of year and that’s because of a number of things: the cooler weather (plus cooler nights), the Autumn leaves of red and gold (quoting Nat King Cole there), we can wrap up warm in thick coats, jumpers and woolly socks, and one of my personal favourites…if you’ve got it, you can put the Cozee Home fleece bedding back on your bed – pure heaven for at least 6 months of the year.

So, what’s been happening at Sew-Drops recently? Well, in mid-August we released Lewis & Irene’s Celtic-inspired collection (with a coastal twist), Iona, which seems to be very popular, especially our Fat Quarter Bundle. I wonder what you’ll all be making with these fabrics…some nice tartan check satchels, Celtic bunting, maybe even a puffin quilt? Get in touch and let me know what you’re making with this collection of fabrics. Recently I had a go at making my very first teddy bear with the ‘Iona Check’ and the ‘Rich Purple’ bumbleberries fabric (to make a small bow tie) – the pattern I used to make him is from Debbie Shore’s Half Yard Sewing Club.

Okay, how about we take a look at what will be arriving in September 2020 at Sew-Drops? Firstly, we will be releasing Lewis & Irene’s ‘The Orchard’ Collection from Mid-September. My favourite colour is green, so I am super excited about this collection because it’s got A LOT of green in it! Take a peek at which fabrics we’ll be getting and start planning out those future sewing projects.

As I mentioned at the start of this blog, we are at the beginning of a NEW season…which means that our Autumn 2020 E-Newsletter will be coming out. It’s all ready to go, however, at the last minute we have learned that we’ll need to undergo some minor changes to our emailing system. Fortunately, this should only take a couple of days to get sorted, so the Autumn 2020 Newsletter will be sent out to everyone who has subscribed by the end of this week (04/09/2020 at the latest). I will keep you all updated via our Facebook page. This season’s issue will be cataloguing some of the NEW products that’ll be arriving at Sew-Drops between September and November 2020. Now, what I’m about to tell you is EXCLUSIVE NEWS! Over the last few months, I’ve received many lovely messages and questions from you all regarding stocking future sewing products. Well you asked, and we’ve listened. Between September and October, we’ll be getting in some brand NEW sewing products! I want to keep them a surprise from you all for a just little bit longer, but I can tell you that these products are NOT fabrics! Oh, and one more thing…if I were you, I would keep a close eye out on our COMING SOON section over the next few weeks because they might just be popping up in there ?

Along with new products, we’ve started looking for all NEW fabric collections for 2021. Last week on our Facebook page, we asked for your feedback on some of your favourite fabric brands that we don’t currently stock on our website e.g. Makower, Henry Glass, Riley Blake, etc. If you’d like to share with us any of your favourite fabric brands to use for sewing, please get in touch and email me at rebecca@sewdrops.co.uk

Finally, Lewis & Irene’s Purrfect Petals will be arriving at the end of October, but it could potentially be early November. This pawsome collection is for fans of the feline which will make you smile from whisker to tail. Me-Wow! This collection has now been added to our COMING SOON section for you to check out.
